Friends of ACT

Serving ACT Roxbury

In fall of 2005, ACT Roxbury began developing a new group of individuals interested in supporting our organization. Members of the Friends of ACT serve as advocates for the organization and are called upon for advice and counsel to help us achieve some of our organizational goals. These goals include:

  • Increase the number of individuals attending ACT programs
  • Expand the network of individuals committed to ACT
  • Raise funds to continue to build our programs
  • Develop a greater awareness of ACT Roxbury within the community and the City of Boston

The Friends of ACT meet monthly to brainstorm around issues and upcoming activities. In just three short months, Friends of ACT have begun to make a difference! Thanks to one of our members we will be hosting a “Hip-Hop Summit” this February. The summit will include a panel on Take Back the Music led by faculty from Berklee College of Music and a performance opportunity for teens. We have had meetings with representatives from the organization, Building Impact, to build awareness of ACT Roxbury among their clients who are tenants in office buildings throughout the Greater Boston area and Lead Boston, a leadership program of National Conference for Community and Justice, has held a gathering in Hibernian Hall.

As a member of Friends of ACT, you will have an opportunity to deepen your relationship with ACT Roxbury by participating in programs and activities on a more involved level. If you are interested in learning more about this group, please contact Eileen Logan at elogan@madison-park.org.
