Project Summary

The new Roxbury Center for Arts at Hibernian Hall (RCAHH) at 184 Dudley Street near Boston’s Dudley Square is working to create a work of public art to celebrate the newly established arts center in Roxbury’s Dudley Square. The following sites have been identified for potential artistic enhancement, particularly for the development of creative lighting design features:

  • Back façade and entrance
  • Four-story side façade visible from Dudley Square
  • Vestibule enhancements

Selected artists/designers/teams will be paid $1,000 to create full proposals. A $100,000+ budget is anticipated. The art selection process will be facilitated by the UrbanArts Institute at Massachusetts College of Art (UrbanArts). This project is funded by the Edward Ingersoll Browne Fund Trust Fund of the City of
Boston and the Fund for the Arts of New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA).
