DATES
The 10th Annual Roxbury Film Festival (RFF) will be held
July 28-August 3, 2008 in Boston, Massachusetts.
DEADLINES AND FEES
Fees for films postmarked by the early submission
deadline of April 18, 2008 are:
- Students ($20)
- Independent Filmmakers ($30)
- Industry ($40)
There is a $15 late fee for films
postmarked after the early submission deadline.
The Final deadline for submission is May 2, 2008.
Consideration for films postmarked
beyond this date cannot be guaranteed.
There is a $5 discount for films submitted via Withoutabox.com
ELIGIBILITY
All genres of films (i.e. narrative, documentary, shorts, features,
and/or animation) produced, directed, and/or written by or about people of color
are eligible for submission. Some preference is given to past or current New
England residents.
More than one entry may be submitted. Each entry must be accompanied by separate
submission forms, fees, and materials.
Incomplete applications will not be considered. Online applications must include
all requested electronic materials. Paper applications must be accompanied by
the submission form, a signed original copy of the Submission and Participation
Waiver, a half inch VHS or DVD copy of the film, publicity photo, filmmaker biography
and entry fees.
If selected, the screening format of the film must be available by May 9, 2008
and for the duration of the festival.
The RFF Planning Committee has complete discretion to determine the placement
of films in the festival schedule.
AWARDS RFF is a competitive festival. Previous awards have included cash
and prizes for Audience Favorite, Best of Festival, Best Short Film, Technical
Excellence, Best Youth Film, and Emerging Local Director. Eligibility requirements
vary for each award. A complete list of awards for the 2008 festival will be posted
on this website in late spring. |
